What Does Ayurveda Say About Turmeric?
Turmeric, today lots of you have perhaps heard about turmeric’s medical benefits, but the application of this herb in Ayurvedic systems has been wide-ranging.
What is Ayurveda? Ayurveda is a structure of traditional medicine, which is native to the Indian Subcontinent. It has been in practice in many other parts of the world as a form of alternative medicine, which can be traced back to the 1st millennium B.C.

- Helps in common digestive problems: It helps counteract gas, heartburn, bloating, colic, and diarrhea.
- Helps in skin diseases: Against candidiasis and worms.
- Helps in stomach-related problems: Protects the gastric mucosa against the effects of stress, and stomach acids, decreasing the incidence of gastritis and ulcers.
- It boosts liver function: helps cleanse the blood and therefore stimulates liver function and cleanses and protects the liver against damage caused by toxins. This results in healthy and lustrous skin.
- Chronic skin condition: In the case of acne and psoriasis can be used directly on the skin as a poultice.
What are the healthiest flavors?
It is excellent for strengthening the immune system and prevents colds, burning and sore throat, cough, and fever. It is an anti-tumor because it is a powerful antioxidant. It favors the production of anticancer cells.
It is an excellent anti-inflammatory, either orally or in the cataplasm in the affected area, which makes it excellent for the case of arthritis.

Ingredients
- 1 cup of cow’s milk (if you do not consume dairy you can use any almond, coconut, soy, etc.)
- 1/8 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of ghee
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- Honey to taste if you want to sweeten.
Preparation
- Place the cup of milk in a pot to be boiled and add all the ingredients except honey.
- When it boils remove it from the heat and let cool a little to drink it.
- In case you want to add the honey let it cool a bit. Remember that honey is never added to boiling preparations and much less should be cooked.
