2. Alcohol consumption: Drinking alcohol can irritate the stomach lining and stimulate the production of excess stomach acid, leading to hyperacidity.

3. Specific food and beverages: Certain foods and beverages can aggravate hyperacidity, including strong chocolate, tea, coffee, garlic, and onions. These items can relax the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) and promote the reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus. Heavy smoking can also weaken the LES.

4. Stress-related conditions: Emotional states such as anger, fear, and worry can contribute to hyperacidity. Stress triggers the release of stress hormones, which can affect the functioning of the digestive system and increase acid production.

5. Excessive sun and heat exposure: Prolonged exposure to excessive heat and sun can lead to dehydration and potentially disrupt the normal digestive processes, increasing the risk of hyperacidity.

6. Medications: Certain medications, including aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), have the potential to irritate the stomach lining and cause increased acid production, leading to hyperacidity.

It’s important to note that while these factors can contribute to hyperacidity, the severity and frequency of symptoms may vary from person to person.

  2. Sour taste and belching: Excessive acid production can lead to the regurgitation of stomach contents into the mouth, resulting in a sour or acidic taste. Additionally, individuals with hyperacidity may experience frequent belching or burping.
  3. Vomiting and headache: In some cases, hyperacidity can cause nausea and vomiting. Headaches may also occur as a result of the discomfort and pain associated with acid reflux.
  4. The sensation of heat in the body: Hyperacidity can sometimes cause a sensation of warmth or heat in the body, particularly in the chest and upper abdomen.
  5. Loss of appetite: Some individuals with hyperacidity may experience a reduced desire to eat due to the discomfort and pain associated with the condition. This can lead to a decreased appetite.

The Herbal Medicines For Acidity

  1. A decoction of the sandal (Chandan) can eat three times a day for relief.
  2. Fruit pulp tender coconut can be taken from time to time. Tender coconut water relieves gastric irritation.
  3. Added simple sugar if eaten in cold water also lowers the acidity level immediately. However, diabetics should refrain from this resource.
  4. About 200 to 500 ml of cold milk taken in sips during the day and at bedtime has proven very beneficial in controlling acidity.

Ayurvedic remedies For Acidity

  1. Avipattikara Churnam is a good Ayurvedic remedy. 3 g of powder and dissolved in 50 ml of hot water should be taken twice daily for 40 days.
  2. Sooktyn tablets in doses of 1 tablet three times daily with warm water is another effective remedy.
  3. Sutshekar Ras (simple) 1 tablet three times a day was taken with water after meals effectively control the acidity.
  4. Kamdudha Ras (with pearls) is a drug of choice for acid taken in doses of 1 tablet three times a day.

Home Remedies for Acidity

An excellent home remedy for heartburn is to eat 1 toast or 2 crackers since they absorb the acid that is causing heartburn at the level of the larynx and throat, reducing the burning sensation.

Other options are to suck a pure lemon at the moment that the acidity arises, because the lemon, despite being acidic, helps to reduce this symptom; or you can also eat a slice of raw potato as it is capable of neutralizing acidity, fighting the discomfort in a few moments.

However, there are other recipes that can be easily prepared at home and used throughout the day, especially for those who suffer from reflux and often have heart attacks. Some of them are:

1. Baking soda

Baking soda, when diluted in water, has an alkaline effect on the digestive tract and consequently reduces the acidity of the stomach, and inflammation at the level of the esophagus, and relieves the discomfort caused by acidity.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 100 ml of water.

Preparation method

Mix the ingredients and take this mixture in small sips.

2. Ginger tea

Ginger tea contains antioxidants and other substances that help relieve inflammation of the esophagus, in addition to reducing stomach contractions, which ultimately reduces the feeling of acidity.

Ingredients

  • 2 cm ginger root cut into slices
  • 2 cups of water.

Preparation method

Place the ginger and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Then turn off the heat and let it sit covered for 30 minutes. Stir the ginger pieces and drink a glass of tea 20 minutes before each meal.

3. Congorosa tea

Congorosa tea has digestive properties, helping to improve poor digestion and relieve acidity.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon of congo rosa

Preparation method

Boil the water and add the congo rosa, leaving it to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and drink unsweetened 2 to 3 times a day.

4. Fennel tea

Fennel tea also contains excellent anti-inflammatory properties that help relieve stomach inflammation and a burning sensation in the throat.

Besides that, it favors gastric emptying and can be used in the case of reflux to decrease the emergence of acidity crisis.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon of fennel

Preparation method

Add the fennel to the boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes, then strain and drink 2-3 times a day or 20 minutes before the main meals.

5. Pear juice

Those who do not like tea can choose to drink freshly made pear juice, as it helps fight acidity and burning, improving digestion. To prepare you only need to liquefy 2 ripe pears with a little water, and if necessary you can add a few drops of lemon so that the juice does not darken.

The pear is semi-acidic, rich in vitamins A, B, and C, and in mineral salts such as sodium, potassium, iron, and calcium, which help dilute stomach acid and alleviate the discomfort and burning caused by acidity.

In addition to the pear, there are other fruits that have the same properties and that can be used to make other juices, such as ripe bananas, red apples, and melons.

6. Licorice tea

Licorice, also called palode, is a medicinal plant with which tea can be made and is known to improve the symptoms of respiratory problems, however, it is also used in cases of gastric ulcers and to relieve the sensation of acidity and burning.

Ingredients

  • 10 g of licorice root
  • 1 liter of water.

Preparation method

The water should be boiled together with the licorice root, strained, and let cool. You can drink it up to 3 times a day.
